Quality, safety, and environment

Our Group’s commitment to top quality processes, environmental protection, and the health and safety of our employees is confirmed by our focus on all these issues covered by our “Quality, Health and Safety, and Environment Policies”.

QUALITY
At Sipag Bisalta we firmly believe that Quality is a key factor to gain competitive advantage. Therefore, since the early ‘90s, we have been working in compliance with ISO 9001 standards and have been certified under ISO 9001:2015.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
In our Group, the health and safety of our employees are an integral part of our management system. For this reason, an internal unit was established aimed at accident prevention and work safety improvement. Great efforts have been made to propagate a strong safety culture among our employees, through awareness raising measures, aimed at each of them, depending on their individual jobs and responsibilities.

At Sipag Bisalta, we have adopted a Health and Safety Management System, to ensure full compliance with applicable work H&S regulations, while developing our corporate organisation and production process procedures to continuously improve our health and safety records. In 2012, the Management System of our plant in Sovizzo (VI) was granted the “LavoroSicuro” (Safe Work) Certification, following the approval by a joint Committee whose members belong to INAIL (National Insurance Institute for Industrial Accidents) and the local Employers’ Association (Confindustria Veneto Siav).

Sipag Bisalta is certified under ISO 45001:2018.

ENVIRONMENT
Close attention and respect for the environment have always characterised developments at Sipag Bisalta and Somies. Pollution prevention and environmental impact reduction are key objectives of our Group’s policies. This is why our production plants are constantly monitored and substantial investments made on new environmentally-compatible solutions. Sipag Bisalta is certified under ISO 14001:2015.

Sipag has taken another significant step towards sustainability by deciding to purchase 100% of the electricity for its plant from renewable sources.

This decision, in line with the company’s long-standing CO2 emission reduction strategy, involves the purchase of electricity exclusively from wind, solar, and hydroelectric power plants.

Purchasing energy from renewable sources represents a concrete commitment to environmental protection and the fight against climate change.

Sipag’s commitment to sustainability is also evident through other initiatives, such as the adoption of low-environmental impact technologies, the reduction of energy consumption, and the promotion of eco-compatible behavior among its employees.

The electricity purchased by Sipag is therefore certified by Guarantees of Origin (GO), issued by the Energy Services Operator (GSE). GOs are documents that certify the origin of energy from renewable sources and allow consumers to monitor their environmental impact.

Sipag’s purchase of renewable energy is a clear positive example of how companies can actively contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable energy model.

With this commitment, Sipag confirms its role as a leading company in the sector, demonstrating that it is not only attentive to economic growth but also to the protection of the environment and the well-being of the communities in which it operates.
